Acoustic desk screens
A desk screen is the cheapest acoustic intervention in an office and the one people notice first. Ours are cut from 100% PET, so they absorb speech at the desk rather than reflecting it back into the room.
Overview
CNC-carved, fabric-wrapped and pressed PET screens that cut sightlines and soak up speech in open-plan desks.
GREENISH desk screens are made from the same recycled PET board as our wall panels: needled polyester fibre, thermally bonded, with no added adhesives or formaldehyde binders. The board is stiff enough to stand unsupported at 900 mm, light enough to clamp to a 25 mm worktop, and soft enough to take pins, notes and drawings.
Three constructions cover most specifications. Pressed screens are a single PET board with a CNC-cut edge profile. Carved screens add milled patterns — lines, grids, botanical forms — that break up the surface without perforating it. Fabric-wrapped screens bond PET to a textile face for a warmer, more domestic look in client-facing areas.
- Speech absorption at source. 0.85 NRC board positioned at head height intercepts direct speech before it reaches the room, reducing the Lombard effect that makes open offices loud.
- Tool-free fixing. C-clamps, zip ties, magnetic strips or PET hinges. Screens can be re-arranged by facilities teams without a fitter or a drill.
- Edge detailing. Square, chamfered, rounded or stitch-bound edges. Aluminium and PET connectors let you build runs without visible joints.
- Tackable, repairable. Pins and documents hold directly in the fibre. Scuffs sand out; damaged panels are replaceable individually.
- Made to the run. Standard widths of 1400–1800 mm, plus insert, U-type and L-type returns cut to the drawing.
- Fire-rated board. The same 9 / 12 mm board is available as EN 13501-1 Class B in 38 of the 46 colours.
